Partners for Resilience
The Partners for Resilience Alliance is a Netherlands based initiative of the Netherlands Red Cross, Cordaid (Caritas Netherlands) CARE NL, Wetlands International and the Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre.
The Alliance aims to work in 9 countries in the coming 5 years (2011-2016) on community and ecosystem based DRR/CCA (Indonesia, Philippines, India, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Mali, Nicaragua and Guatemala).
Another aim is to strengthen national capacity building and policy dialogues and contribute to some generic, global discussions, in particular on climate risk assessments, up scaling and monitoring and evaluation of ecosystem based DRR/CCA programme impacts.
The total budget is expected to be between 50–65 million Euro for 2011–2016. The alliance has been shortlisted by the Netherlands MoFA to submit the full proposal by 1 July 2010. Implementation is depending on the approval of the MoFA.
The Partners for Resilience are interested to link up with related programmes. It seeks forms of cooperation with knowledge centres, policymakers and CSOs working in the same area of interest: capacitybuiling and developing generic approaches and tools for ecosystem based DRR/CCA.
